So, Friday morning, I got up a little after 5 am, and drove down to the train station at the Milwaukee airport. I arrived about 40 minutes early for the 8:10 am train to Union station in Chicago. The train arrived on time and I had about a 3 hour wait in Union Station. Metra and Amtrak share the station, so there was a lot of activity. But more importantly, there was a reasonable priced food court. I ate some lunch around 10:30 because I ate breakfast round 6:30 and I was really hungry. Anyway, the train left for Ann Arbor, MI on time. The seat were good with plenty of legroom. We were about 1/2 hour late coming into Ann Arbor. My Uncle Mel (first pic) picked me up. I called my mom to tell here I was in town and really surprised her. Here first words were, "did you bring any of the grandkids"? "No", I said. I did not bring any, in part, because of the extra expense, and the extra work it would entail. So, my mom, (2 pic) and step father, Jerry, took myself and my uncle to Bob Evans for dinner.
Next day, I helped Jerry get the food and helped bring some food out the the tent. My brothers and their families came (Dan and his family and Don and his daughter), along with cousins (Kim, Nancy, Dave and his family, Ron and his family) and aunts (that's you Mary) and uncles (uncle Mel and Uncle David) and other extended family members (that's you Rod and Janice and Jay and Betty Jean).
Afterward, I helped clean up and visited with my mom. The next morning, they dropped me off at the train station in Ann Arbor. I had a relaxing trip home.
