Here in Wisconsin we are gearing up for another fourth of July. I had the kids today while Doug went to "work". This morning I made two batches of strawberry jelly while the kids ate breakfast and watched some cartoons. We went outside on the slip and slide. I put on my hot pink swimming suit tried out the COLD slip and slide. The kids laughed (at) OR WITH ME. Emma was the diaper diva. She kept trying on different diapers. When I told her to put them on because they were not wet, she proceeded to dunk the diaper in the kiddie pool. I was surprized at her logic...dunk clean diaper in kiddie pool so that it is wet... Laura became diaper diva. She had to try on 5 diapers before she found the right one. right now disney princess has given way to CARS diapers.
While Hudson napped, I played with the girls. Emma likes pictures on the computer. "I want ta see kitty"
After Doug got home, I went to the remnant store to buy carpet for the basement. I hope that we can get the basement back in shape after the flood. It actually look better than when we bought the house...
We went to see fireworks tonight. This is Jonathan's first fourth of July as an American...He smiled at the fireworks. Laura laughed with delight. Emma alternated between wanting to be held and covering her ears to telling the fireworks "shhhhh!" to sticking out her tongue and giving the fireworks raspberries.
Emma is chattering all of the time. Laura is saying one word at a time. Jonathan is chattering in baby/chinese and saying some english phrases. With prompting, his longest phrase has been "i want more juice please mamma".
A couple of nites ago, we had haircutting time. Emma and Laura had their bangs cut, Doug and Hudson had their hair cut with the clippers.
doug and I finally celebrated our 11th wedding anniversary. We took the whole family out to a supper club... everyone behaved. We have been home for 4 months now from China. We are finally starting to be able to go places as a family.
